UDI's ethics policy is inspired by and in accordance with the standards of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) [http://publicationethics.org/files/Code_of_conduct_for_journal_editors_Mar11.pdf].
Articles submitted to UDI have to be fully orginal, that is, they have not been published elsewhere before (either in the Internet or in print) as a whole or in a substatntial part. We do not accept any forms of plagiarism, auto-plagiarism, honorary authorship, guest authorship or ghostwritting. The papers submitted to UDI are scanned by anti-plagiarism software.
Starting from UDI volume 69 (March 2021), articles are published only online. Up to UDI volume 68 issue 2, articles were published in the analogue version and made available, in addition to the analogue version, in the digital one. Both versions were identical. The Editorial Board indicated the (original) analogue version as the basic one.
Important: Please find here the updated version (in use starting from UDI volume 69, March 2021) of our Publishing Policy in Polish (English version to be added soon).
Previous version of the UDI Publishing Policy:
By sending an article by e-mail to the Editorial Office ([email protected]) or through the contact form the author confirms that he or she is familiar with our Publishing Policy. Before print, all authors of a paper send to the Editorial Office a scan or a hardcopy of a signed confirmation where they agree upon the points listed below.
The Author:
1. Declares that they are the actual creator of the work and have a copyright in the text, tables, photographs and figures contained in the work, and that the copyright in the work is not limited in the scope of the declaration. Thus, they declare that the content of the work was not acquired from any third parties, nor was the contribution of any third parties towards the creation of the work concealed and - in the case of articles with more than one author - that all listed authors made a significant contribution to the work (we do not accept any forms of ghost-writing, ghost authorship and guest/honorary authorship).
2. In the case of multi-author articles, the corresponding author undertakes to disclose to the Editorial Team the contribution of individual authors (along with providing their affiliation) to the creation of a publication (i.e. to disclose who is the author of: the concept, objectives, methods, analysis, or other elements according to the specificity of the article, and also who edited the text and developed its graphic part).
3. They acknowledge that any possible obligation to disclose in the content of the article (in the Acknowledgements section) information about the sources of funding and other contribution of scientific research institutions, associations and other entities to the creation of the publication rests with them.
4. They declare that the article is fully original, i.e. it does not contain any borrowings from other works which could raise the publisher's liability and damage their reputation.
5. They grant their consent to the publication of their work by the Publisher of the quarterly Urban Development Issues in the analogue version, making it available in analogue and digital versions, and grant a non-exclusive license in respect of its publication to the Institute of Urban and Regional Development based in Warsaw, Poland.
6. They grant their consent to the use of the article to promote the journal Urban Development Issues through the portal Obserwatorium Polityki Miejskiej (http://obserwatorium.miasta.pl/) as well as in general and academic social media (Facebook, Tweeter, ResearchGate, Academia).
7. They declare that the work has not been previously published in whole or in substantial part, and that it has not been submitted for publication in another journal. Sending a work to the Editorial Office pursuant to the existing guidelines will be construed as its "submission for publication".
8. They grant their consent to make changes in the content of the work and its individual elements resulting from their editing, without any interference in the substantive value of the work. The articles are send to authors for authorization at the last stage of the editorial process, before publication.
The disputes or claims referred to the points listed above will be resolved according to the Polish law, by a state court with jurisdiction over the Publisher’s registered office.
